Method development and validation for the estimation of Ranolazine in bulk and in pharmaceutical dosage form by UV- spectrophotometry

Ramesh J.

Abstract

This paper describes developed and validated UV spectrophotometry method for the estimation of Ranolazine in pure and in tablet formulation by first order derivative method. This method utilize methanol and distilled water as solvent. First order derivative spectra of drug, showed maximum absorbance at 263nm and minimum at 282nm, and the amplitude difference was measured for the estimation of Ranolazine. This method obeyed Beers law in the concentration range of 10-35 mcg/ml. The correlation coefficient of Ranolazine was found to be 0.9992. The results of analysis of this method have been validated statistically and recovery studies confirmed the accuracy of the proposed method.
